TRADICAL® HEMPCRETE CONSTRUCTION

WORLD-CLASS INSULATING CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL

Tradical® Hempcrete has set the standard in hempcrete construction as it has been developed in collaboration with professionals to meet their expectations and has been used on a wide range of construction sites for the past 20 years, with unrivalled functional reliability and no distress observed to date.

Beyond their technical performance, reliability and conformity with the construction regulations in force, Tradical® Hempcrete also meets other requirements that have become just as indispensable; availability of renewable materials, ability to store CO2 in the long term, energy efficiency and non-toxicity are all decisive factors in choosing materials today.

Tradical® lime binders are a ready-to-use pre-formulated binder, combining an aerial lime base with hydraulic binders to mix with Tradical® Chanvribat® hurd and water to produce Tradical® Hempcrete, that can be manually or mechanically applied.

Tradical® lime binders are used to prepare Tradical® Hempcrete for insulating walls, insulating lining, insulating roofs and insulating screeds – for all kinds of new constructions or renovations involving wall structures, roofing, rendering and plastering.

METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION

Cast-in-situ: by pouring the hempcrete in between the wall and shuttering. In this process, the components – hemp, lime and water are mixed in batches and inserted by hand into the wall cavity using formwork and then manually tamped.

Mechanical spray: by spraying the hempcrete directly onto the wall, floors and roof cavities with the use of specialised equipment. A very quick and efficient method of hempcrete construction that allows excellent consolidation and consistency of the product. The spray application is the perfect solution to enhance the performance of Tradical® Hempcrete for its properties in a more convenient, faster and affordable method.

RELIABILITY

The vast majorities of international tests and experiments relating to hempcrete have been, and still are, conducted with Tradical® Hempcrete materials. The substantive knowledge gained from experimental construction projects and numerous developmental programs could only be acquired due to the trust that research institutions have in Tradical® Hempcrete.

EASY TO USE

The ease-of-use, reliability and performance that have contributed to the reputation of Tradical® Hempcrete are a result of the qualifications of the materials and the stability of their characteristics. The consistency of the Tradical® Chanvribat® Hemp Hurd and Tradical® lime binder blend is what ensures their quality and safety.
