Towards a Sustainable Tomorrow
MiniHemp® For Garden Mulch
MiniHemp® is a fabulous mulching material, absorbing 4-5 times its weight in moisture and retaining it for longer than other mulching materials, which is favourable to microorganisms such as earthworms. The surface of MiniHemp® mulch remains generally dry, so it is less receptive to weed growth or evaporative water loss and frost damage. The superior insulating properties of hemp hurd protects the soil during hot summer or cold winter periods. Once wet, hemp hurd fibres will progressively bind due to its lignin and pectin content, resulting in MiniHemp® mulch being less prone to being windblown. MiniHemp® is pH neutral, fully biodegradable and adds humus to soils.

MINIHEMP® MULCH CAN BE USED FOR:
- Pot plants, bedding plants and ornamentals
- Fruit trees, vines and vegetable gardens
- Container mulching (i.e., large shrubs)
- Compost covers and starters, for the effective separation of wet materials to discourage anaerobic conditions
BENEFITS OF MINIHEMP® FOR MULCH

HOW TO USE MINIHEMP® FOR MULCH?
MiniHemp® can be used throughout spring, summer or autumn as a garden mulch to replace wood-based mulches.
To use as garden mulch, spread MiniHemp® about 5cm deep over the garden area to keep plants moist and reduce weed growth. Water as required.
If left undisturbed once dry, MiniHemp® will slightly crust over and will not blow away.
You can blend MiniHemp® with other top mulches if desired to change the appearance of your garden.
