Towards a Sustainable Tomorrow
SORBLISS® SMALL ANIMAL BEDDING
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is made from 100% naturally grown hemp and is free from insecticides, pesticides and chemical additives. No binding agents or fragrances were used in the manufacturing process either.
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is suitable for all small animals – rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and other small animals. It is also ideal as a litter for birdcages, aviaries and young animals as it poses no choking or poisoning risk.
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is available in all major pet stores.
WHY USE SORBLISS® SMALL ANIMAL BEDDING?
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is 12 times more absorbent than straw and 4 times more absorbent than wood shavings. This high absorbency capacity helps to trap and reduce odours and ensure that damp litter does not stick together.
Accredited Independent Laboratory tests have been commissioned to conduct Absorbency Performance Tests on respective litters. The analytical report showed that Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is four times more absorbent than traditional clay litters, therefore reducing the amount of cat litter required.
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding also has natural thermal insulation to help maintain warmth within their enclosure.
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding can be disposed of easily and hygienically, either by recycling or composting it with your organic waste.
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is a natural alternative product for the welfare of both pets and pet owners.

BENEFITS OF SORBLISS® SMALL ANIMAL BEDDING
SUPERIOR ABSORBENCY
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is up to four times more absorbent than traditional clay litters, resulting in less litter required for each application. It also absorbs ammonia very efficiently, reducing odours and its harmful effects on the respiratory system.
DUST EXTRACTED
Dust and spores are extracted to provide a cleaner stable environment. This is particularly important for animals with a respiratory disease, but also helps to prevent such problems from developing.
REDUCE TRACKING
Due to the weight of Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding, the pellets will remain in place when your cat scrapes the litter tray. Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding stays dry and odourless so your cat can come and go with its paws clean and dry.
EASY DISPOSAL
You may dispose of the soiled litter by flushing it down the toilet, putting it in your compost bin or simply mixing it with the soil in your garden, as it will break down within 8 weeks into quality organic garden compost.
ECONOMICAL TO USE
Only 1-3 cm of Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is needed to line the bottom of the litter tray, allowing for the easy removal of soiled products. This adds to its increased absorbency, making it a cost-effective replacement for clay litters.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Sorbliss® Small Animal Bedding is 100% biodegradable and is made from annually renewable crops, meaning no trees were lost nor land degraded for this product. The packaging is made from recycled paper lined with recyclable lamination for moisture protection.
FRAGRANCES & SCENTS IN BEDDING
Bedding is an important part of your pet’s enclosure. The wrong type of bedding may cause respiratory illnesses as they contain excess oils and aromas that rodents and other small animals cannot be exposed to for long periods of time (being more than one or two cleanings).
Pine and cedar bedding is detrimental to a small animal’s respiratory system. It has also been reported to cause the most sneezing in rats and mice. Recycled paper tends to contain phenols, which give them their “fresh” scent but is toxic. Remember that your rat, mouse, guinea pig and/or rabbit has its nose close to whatever bedding you give it for a large percentage of an average day, so it doesn’t want highly fragranced or dusty bedding material.
Firstly, the acids given off by pine and cedar are damaging to the respiratory tract, making your pet susceptible to respiratory infections.
Secondly, components of cedar and pine (phenols), which give them their ‘fresh’ scents, are toxic, causing their liver to work overtime to cope with them. This can lead to constant stress problems with their immune system. It can also affect the absorption of medicines given to treat other problems.
When using hemp products for guinea pigs, you must be aware that some brands are treated with essential oils such as eucalyptus extract. Most hemp bedding for horses are treated with either eucalyptus or citronella extracts. Guinea pigs do enjoy chewing their bedding and as eucalyptus oil is poisonous to guinea pigs, any bedding containing this oil must never be used for guinea pig bedding.
